Another remake of The Thing? Tell me you're kidding. Please.

That whole list is a crying shame. The only movies I'm looking forward to seeing are POTC: On Stranger Tides, Power of the Dark Crystal, that possible 3rd Batman film from Christopher Nolan, and PERHAPS Scream 4....Anything else can !@#% right off.

    Cheers,

    Ryan

The new Thing movie is from what I have heard actually a prequel yet it has the same title as the original as if it were a remake. Weird.

How many others are there Ryan? LOL!
The Howard Hawks film "The Thing From Another World" is nothing like the source material that inspired it.

Carpenter's, while called a "remake", really isn't. If you ever read "Who Goes There?" you'll see that Carpenter pretty much nailed it. The only real difference is there are more characters and some cows in the original story.

I read somewhere that the makers of this prequel are working backwards off Carpenter's film - "There's a hole in the wall there and an axe in the door here. We need to show how that came about" kinda stuff. That has to mean we'll see that crazy split faced creature they bring back from the Norweigen camp in action. I've also heard that it will be practical effects (IE - rubber monsters) with CGI enhancements. Woo hoo!

Only problem I Have heard about the Thing remake is that it is an American camp instead of Norweigian. Oh well not that big of a deal I guess.

i also hear it ends exactly as it should!

I've heard differently. Carpenter at the Q n A session at Monster Mania said that the monster was all CG.
