Man that\'s just tragic. To be a firefighter for so long only to have the careless act of some idiot on the highway take his life... such a shame.

I hate seeing these things happen. I am a tractor trailer driver and I ALWAYS move over to the other lane when i see someone on the side of the road. I see alot of stuff out there..People need to just slow down and watch what they are doing and STOP texting and playing with the golly gee willikers phone..I cant tell you how many times I pass people texting or putting on makeup I just cant stand it..Sorry for your lost mike! What a sad and angering thing, a person who dedicates his life to helping others and bettering his community as well as keeping it safe. All ripped away by some idiot who couldn\'t be bothered to pay attention.

My condolences go out to you Mike, and his family and other friends.
Incidents like this are hard to understand for me, why it always happens to the best of people.
I just buried a friend of 15 years all because he was doing ODOT city work and a 17 year old kid plowed through the work area, hitting and throwing him at 80 MPH.
I know how you feel, and I am saddened by your loss.
