First Try At Painting Latex

OK so it\'s just a basecoat but still... This was my first time trying and I don\'t think I mixed the paint right. Anyway, the base is a bit see through which is cool cause I hate super white Myers masks but I got a blast of straight water and ruined it. Not sure what happened there, must have been my water trap..
Is there any way to strip the paint in the area to repaint it? The drips are a bit thick...
Other than that I\'m happy with it and want to add the weathering soon..

maybee take your thumb and rub real hard on the runs to take em off.. then just keep basing over it..

How did you mix your paints.. and with what?

I mixed paint/latex 50/50 and thinned with water till it was about as thick as..I dunno..gravy? l

Try mixing it with windex, *high ammonia content* till it\'s about as thick as milk.

I don\'t know much, but Is that alchol safe? I mean, hairspray kills latex. I can\'t imagine windex doing good. Perhaps it does. Just a thought.

naptha will rub the paint off its it pooled up that could be spraying to close or to much in one area jsut do a few light coats after that 50/50 is a little more latex than i normally use casue it makes the paitn more rubbery looking jsut add latex to make the a acrylic more flexible and thin it out

Thanks guys. I actualy cleaned my gun with Windex but never thought of using it to thin... does the blue color affect your paint much? I\'m thinking it\'s be noticable on white?

I want to buy a few more blank masks so I can keep learning too. I love being able to paint indoors without the fumes of Uro paints like I usually use.

I\'ll re-work it and post up pics this weekend.

I\'ve been using windex and generic windex as a paint thinner for a long time. The windex evaporates quickly and leave no blue whatsoever.

It\'s also a hell of alot cheaper then the \'airbrush thinner\' they sell, and works great for cleaning out your brush.

Think about it this way. What\'s the liquid in liquid latex? Ammonia? What\'s in Windex? Ammonia.

I\'ve never ever had a problem using it and cleaning with it. I\'ll even run a capful through the brush inbetween colors.

You can give it a try or not. I\'m just saying it\'s what I use and I\'ve never had a problem.

That\'s exactly what I figured, it worked great for cleaning and yes, it\'s cheap as hell.
