Yes, it\'s official...Rob Zombie has signed on to write and direct the next installment of Halloween. So far nothing has said about it being a remake...all reports mention \"Halloween 9\" so I think we can safely assume it will be a sequel.
Anyway, what do you all think about this? Love it? Hate it? Indifferent? Personally, I\'m pretty stoked about this. The Halloween series has sucked for years. The original is my favorite movie of all time...part 2 was damn good, but not the original. Part 4 was a decent sequel, and I think 5 was too...despite it\'s retarded plot line. After that they just started getting worse, even though H20 had it\'s moments. But the last one was just awful IMO. I have only been able to sit through the whole thing once. So, in that sense, the franchise needs a kick in the hiney.
Rob Zombie, love him or hate him, has made a name for himself with Devil\'s Rejects. As interesting and cool as House of 1000 Corpses was, Devil\'s Rejects put him on the map and gave him recognition as a filmmaker. Even though I\'m against dragging the good Myers name through the mud even more, the addition of Zombie as not only director but writer as well just might be the spark the series needs to come back to life. And if it is, please let this be the last film in that franchise...make us forget that last piece of crap and once and for all, kill Myers with some dignity
Ok, enough of my rambling...what do you all think of this?
