Hey guys...I just want to offer help to anyone that wants to post BIG pictures up without posting up HUGE file sizes. Smaller file sizes = faster viewing for everyone on the board and faster page loading.

Here\'s an example of what I mean...I hope chainsaw doesn\'t mind me borrowing his sweet mask for this.

Right click each image and check the properties to see for yourself...note that there is no sacrificing image quality.

Image 1: 776KB, 1200x1600
[Image: pic1.jpg]

Image 2: 86KB, 1200x1600
(nearly 10 times smaller file size, but same size image)

Do you guys see what I mean? Smaller file sizes would mean faster NO surfing for everyone.

Please let me know if anyone is interested or if I should just go sit on a jack-o-lantern.

I think these tips could be quite useful. I would like to know.
I think I would be more likely to follow these tips if I was just posting one or two pics. However, if it was a thread like my MM6 pics, I can honestly say I probably wouldn\'t take the time to alter that many pics before posting. The time factor is what it will boil down to.

It really doesn\'t take much, it\'s as easy as clicking "save"

Photoshop has the \'save for web\' option, but most people don\'t have Photoshop. Irfanview (free) can batch resize files in no time...I\'ll be back later to explain more...right now I gotta go.
Read about it for yourself: http://www.irfanview.com/

This is what I do, of course you\'d need photoshop.

step 1- Save original image and name it

step 2- Click file and select Save for Web

step 3- choose file type (.gif or .jpg usually) and click save

step 4- click replace if not changing the file name

Viola! your image size has now been drastically reduced without shrinking the actual image.

For those of you that don\'t have Photoshop, this tutorial for Irfanview (free program) will help you resize one image or an entire folder of images in seconds...you can experiment with the various output settings, but this will guided tutorial is great to get you started. This is the program I use to resize screenshots I take to create your avatars...sometimes I resize over 100 images at once and it literally only takes a few seconds.

It\'s a Flash animated tutorial that walks you through each step...you click the \'next\' button when you\'re ready to move on.
