How To Fade Pants?

Hi, I got a pair of navy blue pants (50% cotton 50% acrylic) that I need to fade for my Jman costume. I want to fade them about 1/2 way. What is the best or easiest way to do it, just wash them over and over (hot or cold? water) or what. Any suggestions?? Thanks

try bleaching them in deluted bleach water. then wash them . then pull them tight against a board and use a orbitor sander on them. i\'m doing the same thing right now to a 65%poly and 35%cotton shirt and the sanding deal is working pretty well so far.
