I know what you're thinking, 'a lot of franky's lately, lol'. Well, my good buddy Colin can attest to the fact that I've been talking about doing my OWN version of the Frankenstein 'Monster' since back in the Spring. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":biggrin:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /> Now that the season is winding down I've had some time to gather some reference pics, blow them up and start playing with the clay! I started this on Monday night. Worked on it a bit Tuesday after work, and then again last night. I'm taking tonight off, lol. I'm extremely happy with the result thus far. The following pics show the sculpt as it looks at present. So far, I've put 7 hours into it. That's including spending an hour building about 50 lbs of clay up onto the armature, lol. It's come along MUCH faster than I thought. Mind you, when sculpting something that you LOVE, it usually is a lot easier, and goes smoothly. And as most of my buddies know, to me, Karloff is definetely KING!! <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":thumbsup:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> I chose to sculpt Boris playing the 'Monster' for the last time in 'Son Of Frankenstein'. His face had filled in a lot since the first film, and you could see more 'age' in his face. I have a gorgeous 'life mask' of Boris that was taken from the late '30's, and it has been a big help in nailing his likeness. I'm using it as reference ONLY. The sculpt of the face is actually MUCH bigger than the lifecast. This piece, when finished, will be huge! And as with my other 'tribute' busts, he will be dressed accordingly.Anyhow, enough blabbing, here are 3 pics of it in it's 'early' stage.
