Hello Ive thought about getting into this as a hobby for myself. What are the best tools and clay and what else is needed. Ive watched some videos on how to do this but they seem to loose me when they talk about putting a wall around the sculpture and it becoming a two piece mold. Any help would be appreciated.

So this kit also comes with a book with step by step. I dont get why it has to be in two parts. If I buy the basic and 5 gallons how many mask would that create and I can reuse the clay right.

Its oiled based clay I believe so yes,as for the latex I think the average mask takes up about 1 pints worth, not 100 precent sure maybe someone else can chime in...

i can get about a good 4-5 pulls out of a 1 gallon if poured to a medium thickness . the reason for the 2 part mold is due to needing to take it off the armature . then you'll strap the mold so it's a 1 piece for pouring masks or some people have been known to make another layer of plaster on the outside of the mold once it's strapped to make it a 1 piece for good so it's easier to work with . if you're making resin busts then that's really the only reason to need a 2 piece mold . mike,
