I'm just watching my first ever Friday 13th film - part 3 in 3d.Gotta say, I'm def not swayed from being a NOES fan. It's ok, but it's a bit cliched as far horror movies go...Is it just me that thinks that?*Adee stands back and prepares for the onslaught of abuse!*Having said all that - I watched Drag Me To Hell on Friday and I haven't been that tense while watching a film since I saw Apocalypto.I think I prefer NOES because it has a little more imagination. Are all the F13th films the same? Just axe/machete/hook kills?

But I've always been more of a Friday fan.

They're both up there in the top 3 horror franchise with Halloween so it's a win win situation.

Part 3 is one of my lesser favorite movies from the franchise, all stuff being shoved in your face doesn't look as good without the cinematic 3D effect, it quickly become annoying and the story is kidna slow. Still a good movie though, it sure is better than anything that came after part 7 though. I suggest you give part 4 a shot, that one is fairly entertaining.

You say it's a bit cliched...but don't forget the context of the time at which this movie was released. Halloween looks cliche too, these days...but at the time there was no cliche...it STARTED it.That said, F13 films are all pretty similar. The first four, in particular, are quite formulaic, designed to jolt and entertain audiences. Once they realized what worked in the original, they didn't want to break the mold. After 25+ years of countless rip-offs and evolution in horror cinema, these early 80's films are all going to look tame by comparison. But you have to remember what they were like at the time of release.Even Universal's Frankenstein had people running from the theaters in fright...when nowadays you wouldn't think twice to let a 5 year old watch it. Still an amazing movie in every sense, but times change...

Part 3 was my favorite but slipped after a while and Final Chapter took the crown. I'd say Part 3 is still one of my top 3 or 4 Friday films.
