    From Killermovies.com

*Exclusive" Friday the 13th XI Official Press Release
I wanted to let you know that yes, there will be another "Friday the 13th". I currently work at ComingSoon.Net as a senior editor and I recieved an official press release from New Line Cinema\'s Marketing and Promotions Dept. earlier in the week. I used to work for UpcomingHorrorMovies.Com but like to offers from Coming Soon and quit 2 years ago. Well enough about me let\'s get down to business. This is an exclusive that isn\'s supposed to be released until Friday, February 13, 2004 ironically but I have given the scoop to several people already today so feel free to post the info it is good promotions for my site. Here is what the press release said.

Official Title: Friday the 13th Part XI: The Next Chapter
Distributor: New Line Cinema in Association with Crystal Lake Entertainment

Screenwriter(s): Matt Greenberg (Co-Writer of "Halloween: H20" and "Reign of Fire")

    Producer(s): Sean S. Cunningham ("Friday the 13th")

Executive Producer: Robert Shaye ("Wes Craven\'s New Nightmare" and "Jason X")

Director: Adam Marcus (rumored/in talks) ("Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday")

Cast: Kane Hodder (Jason Voorhees), Corey Feldman (rumored/in talks)

Filming Locations: Vancouver, Canada and parts of New Jersey where original "Friday the 13th" was filmed

    Status: Pre-Production/Development

Release Date: Friday, May 13, 2005 (rumored/in talks) or August 2005

Plot: Some legends never die, especially those we can\'t forget. In the 11th installment to the popular "Friday the 13th" franchise titled "Friday the 13th XI: The Next Chapter" will reunite the original creators\' concepts for the series along with new and exciting revelations of today. The film takes place following the events moments after "Jason X" where Jason will be confronted by an old foe, brought to his knees, and held captive at a maximum security genetic research facility. Having the series live to true form Jason has escaped and will stop at nothing to do what he has failed doing three times, killing Tommy Jarvis. In his quest for vigilance, Jason will cross paths with a group of teenagers having a magnificent time at the abandoned Camp Crystal Lake with fun, games, drugs, premarital sex, and some slaughtering which will finally lead to a showdown between the maniacal Jason Voorhees and the man he despises the most Tommy Jarvis, the only person to escape Jason wrath three times. More mayhem and macabre awaits when "Friday the 13th Part XI: The Next Chapter" comes to a theatre near you.

    well ok...

it makes sense corey would do this...cuz lets face it he needs a job. but i think he would do great..hes a better actor than singer for sure.lol.

and Kane being back as jason is something i thought they may do if NL and kane were on good terms, i say have kane so the reg flicks like he has, and let Ken do the fvsj\'s...

i know cunningham wants to tak it back to the old formula...woods, camp, etc. im always excited for a new one..even though they wont take the time to make a real good flick..course new line dishes them out..but for the right reason? no. none the less jason is the man...and to see him kill on the big screen is sometimes good enough...even though a half decent script and real actors would help, alot.

not gonna etch any of this news in stone cuz i dont know the guy promoting it
but we will see what turns out...obviously jason is not done. and wont be for a while. the fan base is as big as ever, why not make money right?

My only question would have to be:
Why in the hell would Tommy Jarvis be back at Crystal Lake?!?!
If I was him, I\'d be as far away from there as humanly possible.

Sounds to me like a twist on reality, a change in the course of another film. They are expecting to make a movie that takes place at the same time Jason X did, except change it so that he doesn\'t get turned into a Voorsicle and then dethawed on a spaceship nearly half a millenium later, only to be shot up by a Trinity wannabe, redesigned as an indestructable human/robot half-breed, then ironically crash land like a meteor into a lake at a camp on a planet called Earth II?...

    *catches his breath*

Most of us would be pleased about this, even though it still could not erase the horror that was Jason X from our tender little minds. As long as it has the camp, the boobs, the weed, and the great kills, I\'m all for it.

And hey, let\'s not forget, Feldman was the original voice of Donatello!
    TMNT Power!! Smile

My question is why would Tommy be at Crystal Lake 500+ years later?

If it smells like ka ka, it is ka ka! However I would be dishing out my $10.50 to see it. LOL

Paramount owns the rights to the title Friday the 13th and the character Tommy Jarvis. Newline does not.
