Realistic Plastic Axe

Hey guys,

I was thinking about being Jason this year for halloween, and was wondering if there are any companies, people,etc that makes realistic fake axes, preferably the double edged ones... I bought a plastic Wizard of Oz axe afew yrs ago for my Jason pt 7 costume, now looking to do a good Pt 4 version... any help would be great

why not get a real one and dull it down? use Acrylic paint to weather the axe. my question as well is...

How would someone be able to put a good lookin realistic blood on a knife? i want the knife transparent blood.

I was thinking that, but I wanted to take it to afew clubs in the area that have huge costume contests, and I\'m afraid they won\'t let me in with it.. And I think the cops might give me a hard time if i wanted to walk around the street that day

I dressed up a plastic one last year looked ok, for blood i used five minute epoxy, dribbled on and then coated it with a load of tamiya clear red paint, really looks like blood.
Don\'t mix the clear red into epoxy, i did this and it went a weird orange colour! just wait for it to set and then paint it

I would recommend putting a shiner on it, to make it shiny. Since metal usually is, unless you are going for a rusted effect. For blood, I would do a couple think layers of paint, then a couple layers of blood gel, for the fresh effect. You may also want to spray paint the machete a bit to. You just have to be creative with it, go to a store and buy a plastic machete.

Simple fix, go buy a replacement axe handle, and a small block of hard wood, make your own axe head. You could do it just with a circular saw if that\'s all you had, some sand paper to smooth it out, few coats of metalic paint, little weathering, blood, sealer, you\'re ready to go. And if think an axe is heavy to lug around all night, try a 40 pound chainsaw! :wink:

Yeah I bet Trav. My buddy took all the \'guts\' out of his chainsaw so it wouldn\'t weigh so damn much. But then again, that means no revving the engine haha.
