Fedor Vs Rogers Strikeforce - carter1010 - 11-08-2009

just have to add my opinion here. Rogers impressed me. The fact that he broke and bloodied the nose of Fedor with s straight punch from his shoulder shows the power the man has. His guard was very good as well. Fedor was having a tough time passing it and was having a tough time taking him down to begin with. To much strength from Rogers. No MMA outfit worth a lick would have stopped this fight for the blood on Fedors nose. Not the UFC, nobody. Now with that said, 2nd round, Fedor wanted the fight over, and knew what his opponents weekness was and did a street fighter style lunging overhand hook uppercut kinda thing that cut through Rogers defenses and had him out. He may not have been out cold, but his eyes were looking to the crowd, not to where fedor was jumping in to punish him. His eyes were glazed and he was done. Fedor ends fights with his power or his ability to rip off an arm and he is a tough man to beat for sure. I want to see him eat lesnar!

Anyone who has watched Fedor knows that he cuts very easily. In almost every single fight Fedor comes out bruised when he was barely even hit, so I wouldn't think that highly of Rodgers being able to cut Fedor. I would say that is his only weakness. In the US you get cut in MMA it counts as a loss rather then a ND like in Pride. And please no discussions of Lesnar vs. Fedor. Lesnar doesn't even deserve to fight Fedor or be in the same sentence as him.

The cut on Fedors nose was irrelevant, but I was mainly referring to the sudden ground and pound that Rogers caught Fedor with. Some officials in the UFC WOULD HAVE stopped the fight right there cause he wasn't defending himself.

Bret Rogers being 6 foot 5 (270 pounds) & getting knocked out by the 5 foot 11 (230 pound) Fedor was awesome. No fighter in Strikeforce would be a challenge for Fedor.I would still like to see Fedor fight Josh Barnett and eventually go to the UFC to finish his career.Carwin has a legitimate chance against Lesnar so we will have to see if Lesnar can keep his belt.I honestly think that Gonzaga or Dos Santos would give Lesnar problems.

Fedor did not "completely own" anything. He scored a one punch knockdown, thats it.He lost the first round and was a bloody mess from a single jab. He was taking a nice combo to the head at the end of the round while on his back too, so Rogers had the upperhand. In the 2nd, it was pretty even, but Rogers who wasn't experienced enough, had his hands down and Fedor dropped him. He wasnt unconscious tho, he brought his hands right up to block and the fight was stopped. But lets get real, this fight should never have been made to begin with. Rogers only had 10 fights, cmon. And going up against the best man o beat? That's why it was on CBS, because they knew they couldnt sell this fight on PPV, no one would take it seriously.</b><!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndPlease tell me your kidding?

Rogers had one as well, with a ground & pound that could have won the round based on that alone. Im not even sure if anyone in here besides you saw Fedor win the first round, not that it even matters, but youre the one replying to me as if it was a completely one sided round and that it would have been impossible to score for Rogers, and that is not the case. I could see valid points made towards either, but I felt Rogers had the edge in one. Is it really that serious tho?</b>

Fedor's win is nothing to brag about. Brett Rogers is technically a rookie compared to Fedor! The only big name fight/skill win is over Andrei Arlovski. 10 fights to 31? hmm you do the math. Rogers had big time ring jitters and seemed like old hat to Fedor. Give Rogers a little more time and i guarantee him puts Fedor to sleep.BTW: Rogers won the first round imo.
