well for my voorhees costume boots, i took an old pair of doc martens and traced out the pattern of the soles on two by fours...i then cut out the patterns.screwed the two two by fours together, attached them to the soles of the docs and then painted them black...they worked for what i wanted. I did learn though that you always need to cut some kind of traction in the bottom of the wood...i was slipping and sliding everywhere at first

I would much rather figure out a better looking way for the hagrid boot though...
