My work is my intellectual property. I created an image using existing characters, but I still get to say were it gets used and were it does not. Put it this way, Dullam and Causey bring out the David bust from lost boys. They go on to ebay and they see a recast (which I believe may even have happened) Are they angry? or do they sit back and say..."Wellll it WAS David from Lost Boys""you can bet your arse they'd get their lawyers working on it, their INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY was stolen. There is absolutely no difference here.C Attn Colin Aka "mayney".......art Thieves Back - navicon - 09-26-2007 Copyright law Section 107 - "the fair use of a copyrighted work . . . for purposes such as criticism [or] comment . . . is not an infringement . . . I did flog a few prints of it to private collectors, but did not breach any kind of copyright law. Having said that, I do know my rights, and really don't feel the need to keep on this..Thanks for the concern lads.Col Attn Colin Aka "mayney".......art Thieves Back - fright-rags - 09-26-2007 Keep in mind that Colin's piece can also be considered a parody of the "dogs playing poker" image. And parodies do have some protection under copyright law. But that doesn't matter because Colin is right, his work was private and not meant to be published, sold, etc...so what this guy did was wrong, period.
