What a prick. I sent the guy a message and told him that what he was selling was stolen art and he may wanna take it down before eBay gets his ass.

I'm curious as to how it's stolen. If the picture was put on a public forum for people to see then that seller has every right to use it doesn't he, he isn't saying it's his own picture?I remember when the picture was shown on here and i don't think there was any copyright attatched to it.I would have thought the original artist would be proud that people want to use his art for their home made work.Just my opinion <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" /> .

A copyright does not have to be registered for it to be effective. Te law was changed in the 70s (if I remember correctly) to protect those all works of art, etc that were created thereafter. Althought it certainly helps to file for a copyright, you still have rights to the work you produce no matter what....even though it's harder to prove. But if Colin has an original, well, that pretty much seals the deal. The short answer is, yes, the image is protected under the the rights of it's creator and the person selling it on eBay is doing so wrongfully.

Thanks for the backup guys.....as to the clueless post regarding copyright...I havent the energy to write what I want to, so instead of writing what you believe the law to be on a whim, go and educate yourself on the topic mate.Either this is the same arsehole from the last time, or my work is all of a sudden desirable on cheap t-shirts and chintzy wall clocks! Lads Im writing to this prick right now but if any of you want to chuck him a line feel freeSmile

Jesus I'm sick of lazy assholes trying to make a quick buck. They don't have an ounce of talent, so they rip off other peoples and capitalise in it, I hate people. It's a shame we can only send these douche bags an email, and not an ass kicking. It's sad and shouldn't be, but it's true, every time you post a piece of original art, you really have to add some kind of water mark through it to prevent these leetches from taking it. Message to ebay fraud dept. sent. And seriously? What's wrong with it? How bout you recast a Mike mask you bought from Justin and sell that? SAME thing, you're stealing his work to benifit your wallet. Does it matter it's not an original character, but a well known one? Does that make the theft any better? No. Same damn thing, only this art is in 2D not 3D, and is easier to copy, takes even less skill.

It sucks that people are low enough to make profit like that off of someone elses hard work. I would never be proud to see my art being used like that to make some tallentless hack money. Sorry to see your work getting ripped or like that Mayney. I know the feeling and it sucks.
