Inglourious Basterds - The New Tarantino - addison.morarre - 08-25-2009 i personally loved the film, but i too would have liked to see the basterds a lot more. However, what they had in the film fit and entertained me very well throughout the entire 2 hours and 45 minutes...i was not bored for a second. and thank GOD Tarantino didnt act in this one..i HATE when he throws himself in his movies.when it comes to acting, he is the worst! I think he would've made a GREAT Basterd!I got to see this yesterday.. left work early and got in free for my birthday! (nice deal) Anyway.. I read all the posts of this being boring and never found myself once being bored! I LOVED Brad Pitt in this and was surprised how well he came off. I think one of the main things I REALLY liked about this movie was the soundtrack! I'm surprised no one else brought up the music. I love every movie soundtrack he's done. This movie is no different. Great pieces for the scenes.. especially the David Bowie number. I loved the acting in this.. the bad guy was an AWESOME bad guy.. Shoshana was great.. everything worked for me! I do have to agree with the post saying it could've used more Basterd scenes.. I totally agree with this. Tarantino should have spliced in a lot more scenes like the one where they shoot up the jeep, etc. Would've give the Basterds more screen time! Eli Roth was awesome as the Bear Jew.. would've loved to have seen more of him! KNB did a decent job with the effects.. especially at the end! I'm wondering how great the Blu Ray Uncut Directors cut will be? <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\" ![]() Inglourious Basterds - The New Tarantino - Indica x - 08-26-2009 I loved this movie. Plain and simple, vision through and through. I couldn't disagree more about it being boring. After the credits rolled my wife and I looked at each other and were like "I can't believe it's over already." The basterds are facking sweet and keeping them on screen for an entire 2 hours and 45 min would have made for one bloody action packed, but ultimately shallow movie. Breaking up their time was brilliant, every time they pop up it's like a dirty little hand job in the middle of an oscar contender. IMO it could be his best pic, I'd have to watch again though to make that claim. And I don't say that lightly. Inglourious Basterds - The New Tarantino - WestlakeDarkman - 09-08-2010 I've seen of this movie on showtime. tarantino did a good job. It was the first world war 2 movie where i rooted for the nazis. before you complain. you can't act like a bad guy no matter how good your attentions were you can't act like a squad of serial killers. Your wording confused me a bit, so I'm a bit unsure as to what you're trying to say...? Inglourious Basterds - The New Tarantino - The Death Curse - 09-08-2010 I never commented on this thread originally, but I saw this film in theaters when it was released and now own the special edition DVD. Stainboy, I thoroughly agree with everything you've said here. 'Basterds is easily one of the most amazing theatrical experiences I've ever had in my life. It's also one of my favorite films of all time. I eagerly await Tarantino's next feature film with high hopes. ![]() Cheers, Ryan Inglourious Basterds - The New Tarantino - Krypt Kreeper - 09-09-2010 I love this movie! I know alot of people complain there's too much dialog and not enough action, but the dialog to me is what made this film so great. Hans Landa is easily one of my favorite screen villians of the decade and was the best part in the movie. I'm not a huge Trantino fan nor am I a fan of subtitles so I originally didn't have any expectations, but Basterds was really one of those movies that just suprised me. |
