<i>Latin accuratus, from past participle of accurare to take care of, from ad- + cura careFreedom from mistakes or error. </i>In the replica world, "screen accuracy" of a piece would be determined by how it matches in size, shape, detail, and scale to the "screen used" item it is based upon. A good way to determine if your particular prop is indeed "screen accurate" is to view the film/character a particular piece is based upon, or simply view "stills" or "screen caps" of the films character. It also never hurts to compare certain individuals interpretations to one and other. Compare detail, craftsmanship, and overall pride in the persons work. If it looks like the person only spent 5 minutes and possibly makes 15 a day, it may quite possibly be the case. To review, here is what some may consider a screen accurate piece. <img src=\"http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v469/goaliehack/da9f_1.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />In comparison to the same film, some may not believe this to be as screen accurate. <img src=\"http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v469/goaliehack/fozzie.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />There is nothing wrong with owning a piece that is not very accurate, and is simply a good overall representation of a particular film. However, there is something wrong with owning a piece that is not very accurate, and claiming that it is in fact "THE" most accurate. In the real world that is a serious offense known as fraud, and nobody likes a criminal! What I think is truly hilarious is all these mask sellers on eBay are now saying "made from the exact movie mold" and some of the masks look nothing like them! Some are real bad homemade plastic ones and they are copying the auctions of others who sell actual screen accurate masks. Some are also selling Rubies Jason undermasks and claiming that they are from the movie and very rare. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":biggrin:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" />

its all based on suckers and gulable people, for those who dont look into what there acually buying. Freedom of speech is that they can say what ever they want and if people jump on the first thing that says those things well they might regret it in the long run, hard lessons but thats just how it is and i dought that it will ever stop most people just dont want to pay for a great mask and will settle for a lesser just the way it is

I have spoken to a few 'ARTISTS' that have noticed these masks selling on ebay so they jump on the ban wagon to sell them, not really knowing a thing about the films or the mask. They take a quick look at the mask and paint it up not taking the time or the effort to study the masks as we the collectors would. And they really seem to believe these are screen accurate.

I say there is nothing wrong with having a mask that isnt accurate, but go for the right look atleast. If you want a hockeymask, I wouldnt go out buying just any hockeymask you find on ebay. Get one with the right shape, like a Frighstuff blank atleast. I mean seeing those horror concept blanks out there painted looked odd, for years, noone really cared because they just wanted a hockeymask. Something similar to accurate is good though, like a GT even.
