I'm Taking The Hogan Personality Test On Monday

Well...I got the call today. I didn\'t "pass" the personality test, so I can\'t work for the company. I don\'t know what else to say...I\'m baffled and disappointed in myself.

She said that I shouldn\'t take it as my personality being a bad one, but not one that is designed for the job according to the test. She also went on to say that she voluntarily took the test just to see what it was like and she failed as well. None of that makes me feel any better. I have no idea what kind of person their test was looking for.
She said she wishes she could push me through despite the results, but company policy strictly prohibits it.
BIG time disappointment...I really had my mind set on this.

Those tests suck. I failed it a couple of times until I learned to lie and tell them what they wanted to hear. it\'s pretty much b.s. I personally don\'t think a test like that will give you an accurate idea of the person\'s work performance. I mean, I hate people, but I\'m able to fake it on the job. You what you gotta do to make money. Don\'t sweat it. There\'s plenty of jobs out there you\'re qualified for.

They were probably looking for a brainless moron and you didnt qualify.
Your better off staying away from a company who puts so much merit into somthing as silly as that. :thumbsup: better things ahead.

Let me try to make this long story short...

While I was still being considered for a job at Cox, I met a FSR (Field Service Rep) manager at the bank and told her that I was applying for a job there. We talked for a few minutes and she said that she would going to personally recommend me to her boss. Great news!

-- I take personality test and "fail" it. --

Today, I stopped in just to thank her for going out of her way for me and to tell her about my test results. She was shocked! Her exact words were, "that really concerns me that such a test can eliminate somebody that I think would be a great employee." She also said that I was the only person that she\'s ever recommended to her boss in the 4 years that she\'s been there. She said she\'s going to raise a red flag with her boss just to see what his take is. I told her not to go out of her way for me, but she insisted that she wants to know why they use the personality test as an elimination tool.

She\'s going to contact me when she has something to report...I don\'t expect anything to come out of it, but it makes me feel good to know that people that don\'t really know me think highly enough to go out of their way for me.

Thats why you cant really size up a person through a "personality test". By going out of your way, shes going out of her way for you....Shes probably thinking its a crock of sh$t as well \'cus she likes you....guaranteed. By putting in some extra effort ,you probably just passed their "test" without realizing it. :thumbsup:
