Caught the midnight showing as usual. Although I thought the story was cool, and like how they tied in earlier characters, as usual, I was a bit dissapointed. Good flick, worth a view but it's not the best of the series by far. And the whole thing about "seeing how it all ends" was bogus. It wont end untill people stop seeing them. Which is totally fine with me, because I still think they are good flicks. They just get less and less good as they go imo.Spoilers below.I was highly dissapointed with the "traps" if you can even call them that in this installment. There werent hardly any suspencful devices in V. I was also a bit let down by the loss of gore and "disgusting-ness" we've seen in the previous films. Nothing made me flinch or grit my teeth like others have. I don't know why there was more focus on story this time rather than gore. While I love the SAW films because of the well thought out story line and great twists, I always thought of them for the great special effects and overal brutallity of the torture devices. I suppose you could view it as the detective who set it all up wasnt as experienced as Jigsaw, so the traps werent as complex. In that case I could understand. Maybe in VI he will continue in Jigsaws legacy and his traps will improve as he goes. Like I said though, still a good flick and worth a see. I hope at least one person understands what I mean by all this. ______________________________________________________
