Got myself a new guitar. I always thought it\'d be cool to have an explorer. They remind me so much of Bill And Ted and the 80\'s. Anyhow I got myself A Gibson Explorer Melody Maker, all the melody makers were on close out for 299.99 so I jumped on the explorer. I also bought a Gibson chrome pickup cover and installed that on there as well. I just got done putting it on. I cut some of the tape off of the pickup, roughed up the edges of the pickup cover, I didn\'t have a lighter around so I used my soldering iron to melt the wax into the pickup cover. I then put popped the cover onto the pickup, soldered the two edges I roughed up, and then screwed down the poles. I love how it came out, and it changed the sound so much. It was definitely for me because it had the one pickup and the volume knob. That\'s all I ever want on my guitars, I never mess with tone or pickup selection. Give me volume and a bridge pickup and I\'m ready to go.

I dig it man. Never haven\'t seen a headstock on a Gibson Explorer like that before very cool.

thanks, that\'s one of the reasons I love it, It has a v headstock instead of the weirdly shaped hockey stick looking headstock.
