    I bought these 2 old original documents at a yard sell for something over $100. They are also signed too. Do you think it was a good deal or did I get took?

    i would say that you got a great buy . find out who signed it and try to contact someone to get the value of it . maybe one of those places on ebay live auction and email them some pics and they might be able to help out .

    I\'m not sure about the price you paid for them. Go to a vintage coin dealer and see if you can get an estimate on price or on it\'s validity.

    At first galnce of this thread, I assumed that you might of purchased fakes, but upon glancing at your items....they carry a very real appearance to them. And those items aren\'t of the demand that would warrant counterfeiting.

    So I\'d guess them at real, but have a dealer verify and approximate their value.

    I have a nice little collection of Civil War stuff
    my most prized is a Double Barrel Black Powder Shotgun from the battle of Gettysburg
    I would have to see better pics of them

    if they are real they are in really really really good condiction for being that old

    Spaz.. the bond you showed me is C.S. Loan of Feb. 20, 1863 and the one I own is Aug 19, 1861...

    but its for 100 and from 63
    I got it from a Gettysburg War Museum
