As noted earlier.. Part 3 was one of the films that created the cliches."Twitch of the Death Nerve" came out before part 2, and from what I understand, almost every kill in parts 2, & 3 can be telegraphed back to that film. I haven't confirmed that for myself though.. just thought it was interesting to hear.With part 3 they went a slightly "new" direction with it, but it's not until part 5 that they really "got jiggy with it" (somewhat disappointingly).. After that, ever one of them was an attempt to break the molds they'd created.. some folks liked 8, 9, and/or 10 but after 8 they were reaching so far with those, they might as well not have been Jason flicks at all.Some of my friends always say they shoulda' stopped with part 2, because after that it seemed to them like just an expansion of part 2 until they got nuts with it. The original writer suggests they shoulda' stopped with part 1, considering that the whole point behind part one was a lady going nuts because her kid was killed... meaning Jason was dead and never should have been a killer. It's all just a matter of opinion though. Many folks prefer the first ones they saw assuming they like the franchise itself.
