Wow, I could contribute soo much nerdy information here as I used to want to be a comic artist... what the he11
Spawn is an ex military/goverment operative with such training and experience. Then he got a limited amount of power from the devil to do almost anything he wanted(at least he was that way originally)
Batman has years of martial arts and fighting training and experience and I think been described as having the best detective mind in the world.
Without the magical powers, I think Batman has the advantage in all physical aspects. He could probably hold his own for a while even with the magic. It could go several different ways, but I think it would ultimately end with Spawn losing his temper and just teleporting into Batman, and tearing out of him as a desparation move if he couldn\'t get his hands on him and use his superhuman strength or nail him with an energy blast. Or Batman, could possibly know what Spawn is, and find some magic spell or other way to counter Spawns power and be triumphant, or as stated earlier, outsmart him in some way, convince him to stop fighting maybe.
Characters that could beat Spawn...DC\'s The Demon, Paralax, probably Firestorm and Marvel, Ghost Rider and Silver Surfer
This is all based on how comics were about 12-13 years ago. I\'m sure things have changed in all the comic universes now.

I also believe in the Frank Miller version, although Batman had nothing to do with it, Superman had been shocked by lighting and fried to a crisp

Batman is a badass, there\'s no doubting that. When I think of Superman (whom I hate) I always think of an issue of Batman where for whatever reason Superman comes to see him. Batman was pissed and took a swing at him. I remember this so well because it staggered the man of steel. I always thought that was cool because even though it didn\'t hurt him and Batman wasn\'t wearing the Kryptonite ring, he was able to knock him backward a little with a solid point....although he did seriously break his hand in doing so, to which the blue douche bag points out to him when he uses his Gay-Ray, I\'m sorry, I mean X-Ray vision to check out his hand.

A superhero with that many powers is just too much to me. I mean, I know superpowers arent real PERIOD, but regular heroes usually have limited powers. It seems like Superman can do anything, and to me, that goes overboard. With that being said, YES, I do not like Superman.

The issue with power is why I\'m not a fan of most anime and Japanese characters. Superman does have limits though. He can be affected by mental powers and magic, and if he is out of the sun for too long, he\'s loses his power. In one story, an alien chestburster nealry killed him.
