Hey guys,Thanks so much for the kind words and compliments. This project is obviously close to my heart, which is why I took a lot of time on it, and have been working on it off and on for the last 5-6 months. Just getting ready to start applying his hair, which I'm NOT looking forward to, lol. When I get to the point where I'm putting on his dress shirt, I'll be happy. Thanks so much again fellas. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> -A

Wow.. what an excellent idea! Oh course, let's be honest, if he were around he'd be a little freaked out at seeing a bust of himself, complete with hair. Wink You've certainly done a great job on it, and the entire concept is very touching. Still, I really wish I had one of my uncle, Jan de Hartog. Oddly enough, I think there's one for sale in Holland though.. lol I had a heroic lifecast done by Corey Castillano (Patriot, Six-legged-freaks, CSI Miami) back in the day.. for some makeup on a low budget zombie film that didn't pan out. He took a partial copy of the bust, made an old age silicon mask for his portfolio, and asked me to come over to model it for a photoshoot. It was really incredible.. He let me have the mask afterwards... I put it on and stopped by my mom's house to show her. She flipped out when she answered the door. She thought it was an amazing likeness to my grandfather who'd died a few years previously. She said it freaked her out completely and she only recognized me by my hands. She asked me to keep the mask hidden away from her because it was upsetting.I wish I could have hung onto that mask. She said that she would have loved to have it bronzed without all the hair and stuff. It was severely damaged by my stepson before I could figure out a way to do it. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Sad\" border=\"0\" alt=\"sad.gif\" />Anyways, perhaps molding the hair and bronzing it might be something you'd be interested in doing with this? I dunno.. just presenting it as a thought for you.Congrats on a job well done though. Inspiring stuff!
