Car Trouble

Hey guys...well I was driving my brothers car today and the stick (that let\'s you go reverse and etc.) kinda got screwed up. Well it will only let us go reverse or neutral now. What do you recommend me doing? If I need to get it fixed, how much am I looking at?

uhm, just a shot in the dark here but,..............take it to a mechanic? I know, sounds crazy, but you see, I can\'t fix your car through the internet. You\'ll actually have to take it somewhere.

Tranmission work is usually not cheap, btw.

This could be many different things. You might have something blocking the shift lever, stuck shifter cable, bad torque convertor, no fluid, fried gears, ect.. Transmission problems are definatly a tricky thing to diagnose unless I can actually drive the car. You are better off towing it to a transmission center to get it taken care of immediatly.

or forget towing and drive it backwards LOL but ya it doesnt sound good dependign on the car it could really be pricy tranny work is always alot
