I have been using Monster Maker latex paint base to paint my masks and have been wondering if it\'s worth it to continue buying it or simply use latex paint base from a typical paint store. The stuff works great, but am I wasting my money when I could simply buy ordinary latex paint base from the depot or lowes? This is for masks I\'m selling, not personal use. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

The latex paint you see at home depot and stuff will not work on masks and should not be used on them. My dad is a professional painter and he told me it wouldn\'t work well on the masks. Stick with the monster makers paints.

Why not use liquid latex from Michael\'s and add it to ordinary Acrylic paint? Thin it with windex and you\'re ready to spray...

Well, I\'ve been using the same exact method with the MM stuff, but wasn\'t aware that Michael\'s sold liquid latex. Thanks for the tip. Smile

Ive have been told by a well known mask maker that he uses liquid latex/latex house paint/thinner(water)-windex) and the tint used to color the latex house paint..

So yea you can use it...

If Monsters and madmen was up you could reread te Distortions paint recipie from my interview with Ed edmunds.

Or buy Horrorhound issue 1 www.horrorhound.com

It\'s Latex interior housepaint Mixed with mask latex and water works like a dream.
you could also mix the mold builder latex from Michael\'s with some acrylic paint for color it works too.
    see ya,
    Justin

I\'ve been having issues with paint lately I use the latex acrylic and water method, I want to base a mask but when I thin the paint down enough to spray well without clogging the airbrush it is too translucent. Is there a better paint recipe to use for opaque colors?
