Rob Zombie's Halloween 9: Update

I\'ve read this thread in and out and I see all of the mixed opinions pertaining to this movie, however I have to agree with most that I think it\'s a mistake to do this, re-imagined or not. I know it\'s not a remake, but he is doing nothing more than stealing certain key elements of the original and then putting his own spin on it, which is what I would imagine a this process to be, but he\'s changed so much of the character that it\'s not the character anymore, not in the least.

Even if he changed every aspect of the movie except for one, I would expect the one aspect left to be Michael being silent, because as it was said in quint\'s article....otherwise he\'s just another killer in a mask...nothing special at all. Michael was the kind of evil that made you look under your bed at night and made afraid to be a teenager. He was a boogeyman. This version of Myers is just a pissed off mental patient that just wants to kill, because he didn\'t get to while he was locked up.

This Myers seems to be waiting for his release from the hospital and nothing more. The Myers we know waited for one night only, and he made his move when he wanted to. Our Myers was on a mission, this Myers seems like he\'s more on prozac than anything else. I wouldn\'t call it a mission though

What an awful thing this is. I guess I\'m going to officially mark Rob Zombie down as an idiot. Reimagining or not, you don\'t completely destroy everything about the original. I kind of figured that it was going to be \'The Devil\'s Halloween" though. Lets add in, lots more gore, nudity, \'f8cks\' and scrap the real story, the suspense, the creepiness, the.. genius.
I will probably still see it out of sheer curiosity, but this is sounding like its going to be a great example of \'leave something alone while its still good!\'

and if were not careful now Rob zombie will be chosen for the evil dead (raimi\'s doing evil dead 4) and friday the 13th remake rob zombie will cast tylerman as Ash and find places for the other devils rejects actors why must he completely disregard all of the other halloween films i kn ow its a remake but michaelis going to be a retard in this movie and hopefully tyler mane will beat some goddamn sense into him

Which makes it sound like you think this movie will ruin the "hood" that the original Halloween created... which is absolutely wrong. Michael Myers could ride around on a unicycle and kill people in this flick and it takes nothing away from the original. Did the Vince Vaughn Psycho ruin Hitchcock\'s? Did the up-to-date, trendy Dawn of the Dead ruin Romero\'s masterpiece? If you don\'t like this movie when you see it, then that\'s cool. But please don\'t disrespect what John Carpenter and Debra Hill created by saying that it\'s going to ruin MM or Halloween. (note: this isn\'t directed at you Adam, this is in general)

I would argue that all of these recent interpretations of classic films and film characters do take away from the originals.

Then again, I think all sequels "take away" from the original.

Vince Vaughn? C\'mon, Hitchcock is still rolling over in his grave.
