I really hope that it was a fake script. Why does it always have to be white trash, whores and sluts in Rob\'s movies? I think it would have worked better if Michael had come from a normal childhood, but he is just really f\'d up in the head..not his mother was a whore so he went crazy Rolleyes

Quote:Who cares what kids think?  Hell, a lot of kids these days don\'t have a high opinion of older horror movies anyway, seeing as how they\'ve had trendy-teen crap shoved down their throats for the last decade.  That\'s what I don\'t understand.  I don\'t understand how your enjoyment of a movie can be degraded by a remake/re-imagining made 29 years later.

Listen, you\'re completely missing my point and running with one sentence taking me out of context... I\'m not saying when I watch the original now, I won\'t be able to enjoy it at all, what I\'m saying is that this film will disgrace the original, it will lessen it or cheapen it.. If that script is legit, that is. But you need to read entire posts, take them in, and not pick out one little sentence in the middle of it.
    And Justin, nice Anderson

It seems like Rob Zombie wants to be a modern day Wes Craven with all the shock value and disturbing stories. Maybe instead of Halloween, he should have remade the Hills have Eyes or Last House on the Left. I think Halloween, even a remake, needs some of the original elements of suspense and subtleness.

I\'m afraid I must bow out of this thread, now.  It boggles my mind (and works me up to know end) to think that people actually feel the original movie is lessened or cheapened by bad sequels and/or remakes.  With that theory, Halloween has been cheapened since Halloween 3 and after.  If you want to say the series as a whole is hurt by such a film, then I can understand that line of reasoning.  But to say the original itself is cheapened blows my mind.  But I\'m afraid my blood pressure continues to jump when I post in this thread, LOL, so I need to be moving along.

My parting words of wisdom to those with an open mind is to give this film a chance.  If you don\'t like it, then that\'s fine - but don\'t hold it against John Carpenter or his great movie, which have done nothing to earn such resentment.  :geek:

I\'m starting to wonder if Rob Zombie is hiding behind the screen moniker "Punisher." It certainly would explain his angst.

However, that would put him Brownsburg, IN. Who lives in Brownsburg, Indiana?
