I don't know what is up with my computer, all I know is it's making me very angry. It'll randomly reboot it's self and when it logs back on it says WINDOWS HAS RECOVERED FROM A SERIOUS ERROR, I checked send error report and it said something about a Stop error or something. I use Windows XP, it's updated and I did a spyware sweep, deleted all these tracking cookies, I don't know what's up with it. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I work w/ computers and it sounds to me like more of a hardware-related error. Usually when a PC reboots on its own it's due to the power supply becoming faulty or going out. I've seen this on numerous occassion and replacing it does the job.

yeh you might need a new power supply. they aint too dear

The power supplies are relatively cheap and easy to replace. I suggest picking up an Antec or Enermax (most reliable and fairly priced) standard ATX power supply with the correct wattage for your system. You have to make sure it is the correct connector - most have 24-pin.

Have you installed any new programs or hardware recently? Have you trying doing a system restore to a date before the restarts started happening? What you need to do is stop your system from automatically restarting so you can actually get a blue screen that might actually show you some information.Right click 'my computer'--properties--advanced tab--click 'settings' under startup and recovery--uncheck 'automatically restart' under system failure. Also, check your system event viewer (under admin tools in control panel) for error messages during the times that your system was rebooting or during the times you get the error message if you disable the automatic restart.Power supplies can cause random restarts, but I don't like to suggest putting $$ into replacing parts unless I know for sure that they're bad.
