Everyone says, "the first day is the hardest." I bet that's true, huh?It must be hard. The only way is to have everyone around you watching you to push you to do something. For example... I hate running, and I'm not huge with excersize. I say I'll do these things, but I never end up doing them. But durring football season, I don't have a choice. The coaches force us to do work.Ask you family to watch after you or something.Good luck Casey! <img src=\"http://forums.NIGHTOWLpro.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Smile\" border=\"0\" alt=\"smile.gif\" /><!--QuoteBegin-Havoc+May 27 2007, 04:53 PM<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE(Havoc @ May 27 2007, 04:53 PM)</div><div class=\'quotemain\'><!--QuoteEBeginthey say a good way to counter the urge to smoke is to chew a piece of gum.  you may find yourself becoming addicted to gum rather than nicotine but hey, it's a lot healthier!  <img src=\"http://forums.NIGHTOWLpro.com/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /><div align=\"right\"><a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=221783\"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndGood idea man.I think it's messed up how the companies put these addicting chemicals in there on purpose. It ruins some peoples lives.

Thats how things are man....soda is chocked full of salt, so that even though you think your thirst is being quenched, its actually just drying up your mouth so that you drink more....more drinking means more money spent

I have been smoke free for closing on 3 years. I smoked for about 12 years or so, and I smoked Newports. I decided to quit when my dad was diagnosed with cancer, it was just a wake up call to me. I got on the patch and that helped a lot. The main thing is that you absolutely MUST WANT TO QUIT. I remember the last cigarette that I smoked, when I put it out in the ash tray I mentaly was "putting out" that habbit. Good luck.

I smoke myself....just started about three years back actually. I've heard of people chewing gum in place of it and also eating hard candy. it's all a matter of will power. My grandfather smoked for 25 years and lit up a cigarette one day and said "this will be the last one I'm gonna smoke" and has never smoked since. He quit back in the early 80's. That to me, is a tremendous amount of will power. he's 64 years old and as healthy as a horse. Good luck man, remember you have to WANT to quit.
