Hey guys. Halloween is so close, so I decided to post up what I'm going to be wearing for it.<img src=\"http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v282/ThemeGuy/starsnemesis2.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />Yep, my personal copy of my now discontinued S.T.A.R.S. Nemesis mask. My costume is going to be a trench coat with gloves and a homemade bazooka on my back. I'm still making some aspects of the costume, but I'll post up some worn pics when it's done. The bottom of the mask still needs some trimming, it's been like that for over a year, just never got around to it, heheh. Keep the costumes coming, guys!

Just got 1st place and scariest costume at the annual Halloween Parade in my town! I finished painting my gore chest to look more decayed with acrylic paint, and added gun powder and dirt, as well as a few more shreds. All the hard work, and sweating paid off! 3 more parades to go! Yet again I was the talk of the whole town, had a great time and the reactions were priceless.

You can see the details even better in the daylight, yet still looks very spooky at night. I should be in the paper tomorrow, so I will try to get a scan. Nice part 7!

I wish there was a costume contest in this small town that I live in. BTW, what did you win if you don't mind me asking.

I finally got it to match the rest of the parts by using acrylic paint, and mixing some Peyter gray and black. Funny thing is that it looked good awhile, but us Jason fanatics are perfectionists that are never fully satisfied. At least I am! <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /> I have a cool story to share as well. When I first got the parade, everyone in the parade was just staring at me, and I loved listening to all the gossip. I never come out of character, and people really do start to worry and wonder. There was a Michael Myers there as well who took second, who just had on the blue jumpsuit and newer type mask. I still got one from over 20 years ago which I believe is an 85 Don Post one but I am not sure. He stared at me the whole time, and at the end I found it was someone I went to school with. Small world! He loved my costume. I have been going as Michael for about 20 years as well, but prefer Jason because he walks faster and is a little more expressive with his body movements and breathing, even though he is supposed to be technically "dead."You can cover a lot more ground as Jason, whereas Myers moves more like a Zombie, and more robotic life. But he sure can cover ground in the movies! The whole town literally was gasping, and I stared down everyone I passed, and "wiped blood" off of my machete as if readying it for my next potential victim. I even lifted the mask a few times Ala part 8, and people freaked! Funny thing is that as my costumes evolutionize, they get more and more uncomfortable to wear. Very limited breathing, sight, lots of sweating, velcro kills your neck, and you have to careful how you move so that you do not rip the costume.I never realized that being Jason took so much work! Well actually I did, but it gets harder with each look it seems. But I especially like part because of the rotting bones showing look, so it was all worth it for me. Yeah basically I bought the stuff and sewed the body parts in after cutting them out of a cheap zombie outfit from Walmart. I got a gore chest and cut it down to the ribs so that it would not be as heavy, then sewed in the parts into the shirt and pants, then frayed the ends. I will have to try and get some pics out in the daylight so that you can see all the details. The prizes were only about $20 for the parades, but I did not really care about the amount, it was reward enough for me to simply be able to portray the character, and see people's reactions. No amount of money could replace that! It wanted to get a good payday however, I would enter some bar contest that pay up to $1,000 for 1st place! However I cannot stand cigarette smoke, so I avoid them. Although the money would certainly be nice. But it is hard enough to breathe in that mask for 3 hours straight outside let alone inside a smokey a bar! Funny thing is that the hockey mask, or Myer's mask themselves are not really that scary, but what is actually scary is the memories associated with them, and what they did in the movies. Plus both masks allow each person to create their own hideous and disfigured monster in their own minds, which is far worse than what any mask could look like underneath.Which is why I decided to leave my Hockey Mask on for the most part, as the mystery and anticipation of what could possibly be underneath was far more intense. But the undermask is hot as hell, the Hockey Mask only makes it hotter and harder to see. So it definitely is an art form that requires a lot of practice and rehearsal. I got a few more parades to go yet. A lot of them like to give prizes to little kids though, and it seems like most people these days are not even wearing anything scary anymore, just "cute" and "sexy" costumes. Luckily the parade I was in today had all kinds of divisions so that I did not have to compete with little kids. they had cutest, sexiest, scariest, funniest, etc. But was a deep honor for me to be voted scariest costume, and obviously the people agreed because the room erupted into a thunderous applause when it was announced. I thought they would just give it to some little kid, but forgot I was actually in an adult class with about 25 other adults. Jason took first, and Myers second...strange but just the way it should have turned out. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" />

Thats really cool man. This halloween party I'm going to only has costume contests for little kids so that sucks, I'm guessing that I might get alot of looks wearing my spfx freddy though. I guess its all about having fun in the end so I'm alright with that. But thats really some crafty work you put into that costume there, how long did it take you to put that all together?
