Finally got around to repainting the mask on my Sideshow figure, it was just driving me nuts. Came out pretty good too, a lot better then the debacle that came with it anyways. I\'ll explain how I did it incase anyone else wants to try.
First I used yellow ocher to go over the dark around the eyes, lightly applying it with a brush, then dabbing it with a tiny sponge bit to lighten and feather it. I also did this all over the mask to lighten the pigment slightly and give it more of a dead look. Once the dark was gone and I was happy with the new tone I did a very very light wash over all the spots I added the yellow ocher to with raw umber, to down play the brightness, blend it all in and get rid of the gloss of the original paint job. To finish it off I used charcoal gray with some flat black mixed in to darken it to go over the eye holes of the mask LIGHTLY, then a light wash with raw umber to give it a more natural look.

(used the flash with the first couple pics to bring out the detail)
