    Here's a preliminary test of some new Part 1 Glove Templates. I hand-cut the copper for this test to see how my new templates looked when fully assembled. I've included photos from the film for comparison. Any thoughts?<img src=\"http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/knifegloves/Test1.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/knifegloves/Part1Backplate.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/knifegloves/Test2.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" /><img src=\"http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn47/knifegloves/Part1Glove.jpg\" border=\"0\" class=\"linked-image\" />

I'm looking into that. I am stuck with a dilema however. If I shrink the backplate, that means I'd have the shrink the finger columns and based on my measurements of screen images and such, they appear to be spot on. I'm still fiddling a tad with the templates and am trying to correct any problems. I've made one correction since I cut out these templates but I'm going to look into the size of the backplate a bit. Maybe I can shrink it a tad. I can't do it too much because if I shrink it, the fingers get pushed together more and I need to leave a little bit a space between the fingers for movement.

that is INSANE work, mark!! I agree on the backplate, but overall it's pretty much DEAD ON!!!Maybe just trim the edges slightly?

Okay... I've made a small adjustment on the Backplate. I shortened it a bit and pulled in the sides a TINY bit but mostly I pulled in the bottom right and left corners. I was worried that doing such would accentuate the curve on the sides too much but it actually didn't. I also pulled the fingers in closer together a TINY bit as well. Doing so, I thinned the finger columns by about 1/16th of an inch so it made and overall shift of 1/4th of an inch. The change I had already made was in the fingertip area. Notice on my templates that the upward curve after the downward curve is a bit too long. I have shortened that by a good 1/4th inch as well. I think I'm done with my templates for my new Part 1 glove now. I hope to have them made within the next month.I also think that by using one of my gloves as a reference as to how long the backplate should be, it made it a bit too long. I tried to get the pullstring buckle in the same spot but I'll bet that the buckle on my gloves is further down on the glove because it is a large glove. The glove used in the film is a medium so the backplate is probably shorter than what I previously had. But I think we're good to go now.

It's just a glove I had laying around for the photo. I'm still trying to figure out how to color the glove more accurately since dyes don't come in any color that I've been happy with. If anyone knows how to get the color of the glove to be a grayish-beige color, I'm all ears.
