I am excited to see this movie when its done. I just hope its creepy and dark like the first 2 nightmare films. I hope the new look Freddy is scary. Will the red and green stripe sweater return I wonder? I hope there are some short cameos for Robert Englund, John Saxon, Johnny Depp and Heather Langenkamp that would be sweet. Also dream sequences should now look amazing with todays technology, fingers crossed that this movie will be decent. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"Tongue\" border=\"0\" alt=\"tongue.gif\" />

A new film with Freddy Krueger that takes him back to being dark and scary? You have my attention.

As far as I'm concerned it wouldn't make sense for Englund to star as Freddy in this film. It would be like a classical stage actor starring in a high school rendition of their play, it's just not appropriate. He is the classic, he need not (and probably should not) be fumbling around with the imitators. A cameo, of course, is another story... Wink

Interesting that article mentions a Dunes remake of Near Dark. One of my fave vampire films!
