Probably won't be seeing this one. I just don't understand how people can 'enjoy' this type of horror movie...<!--QuoteEnd</div><!--QuoteEEndIt's about revenge...the revenge is what makes it enjoyable and incredibly badass.Sure, it IS fucked up the shit that happens to Mary, but it's necessary to include because it makes us hate the family that much more and makes us cheer for Mary's family that much more when her mother and father completely destroy the killers.

Saw it today and thought it was great. This was one of the better remakes that have been made recently.

A revenge flick would be cool in the way Kill Bill did it, but by the time the parents do what they do, your (at least my) emotions and morals have been so brutally attacked that it's just another torture kill to make your stomach churn. In other words, there is no redeeming quality about this movie, even after the revenge. Were it a documentary of true life events, that would change it.I personally don't see the point in making a movie that goes sooo far. Crosses the line many times over. Call me crazy but I just don't enjoy this 'Hostel' generation of horror movies. .. But hey, that's me I guess.

I haven't seen the original, but from what I know of it, this new remake ends on a much 'happier' note. Not necessarily happy in a conventional sense, but the ending has a definite sense of hope after the killers are "taken care of".

I feel like Wes Craven has this obsession with "what normal people can be driven to do". I haven't seen Last House but I've heard it's essentially like The Hills Have Eyes. I'm going to be watching Last House very soon but I mean the rape scene in The Hills remake was sickening enough for me.

I rented the original and watched it with my gf for our first times and I felt uncomfortable watching it, I couldn't decide what to feel or think and after the movie I still kinda had a sickening feeling in my stomach but my gf actually thought it was good, i guess in a sense thats what a horror movie should do, make you kind of sick and on that part it is a strong film...I havent seen the Remake yet but my gf wants to see it so I am sure we will be seeing it soon
