I for one will not be getting this set. I bought all the single disc releases when they came out which wasn\'t cheap at the time and they just haven\'t done enough since then to get me to buy this. I\'ll just have someone burn me a copy of the bonus disc.

If anyone got the newest Fangoria (237), Martin Blythe states that if the box set sells well enough they may release special editions of each film separately with any cut footage re-inserted back in. Why not just do that this time and save everyone a bunch of money?

Just read your last sentence. Why would Paramount want to save the consumer alot of money? They wouldn\'t make that ton of exta money that the diehard fan will spend just to get that other special edition boxset or dvd. The Big Meanies Tongue

quick question , are the deleted scenes IN the movies or just on the bonus disc like everyother movie that has deleted stuff ? i hate when the have scenes cut from the movie but don\'t put them in the movie how it should be .

The deleted scenes are just on the bonus disc.

Think about the quality of the films. Instead of filling a disc with one movie, they now have two. They are squeezing twice as much information onto the same size discs that they released the first time. The compression of these movies has to be twice that of the first time around. The greater the compression, the lower the quality of the sound and picture.

I have not seen the films on these discs, but I certainly wouldn\'t want to give up the copies I have for a lesser quality release.

I\'m not so sure about the compression being all that bad to be honest. These are dual-layer discs which mean they can hold twice the information as older DVDs. Think of some movies that have 2-4 hours of extras on them including the movie...those are the same. It\'s just that this time they elected to include all the extras on a separate disc and put two movies on each disc to cut down packaging.

I would have preferred them each to be in their own cases, along with the original cover art...I guess I\'m just a purist that way. But I doubt the quality has suffered any, if at all...though I could be wrong.

Yup, interting point, but If I\'m not mistaken the discs are dual layered. That would put one film on one layer and one film on another, instead of lowering the compression and putting both films on the same layer.
