.090 is 1/90", or 3/30". An inch would be 1.000 for example. The blanks Steve uses are good stuff, and .090 is the standard for hockey masks these days.Jeff-

It all comes down to preference. I think the .90 abs are ideal strength and thickness wise. In my opinion the neca masks are crap just like fibreglass.

The Neca's are almost 1/4" (.250) think. These masks have to be thick, because the material they're made out of is just not strong enough to take an impact. You've heard the stories of a Neca mask falling on the floor and cracking in half. I can take an .090 ABS mask and toss it out an airplane and it won't break when it hits the ground. When it comes to these masks, thickness, and even the material, it is not that important. As long as the mask is strong enough to survive it's intended purpose, which is to be a costume prop.<!--quoteo(post=326584:date=Aug 22 2009, 01:33 AM:name=creeping death productions)<div class=\'quotetop\'>QUOTE (creeping death productions @ Aug 22 2009, 01:33 AM) <a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=326584\"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class=\'quotemain\'><!--quotecIt all comes down to preference. You can make a boat hull or car body out of Fiberglass, a real hockey mask out of Fiberglass, but when it comes to replica Jason masks, fiberglass is weak and brittle, just no good at all....What do people do with these masks after makers ship them out <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"unsure.gif\" /> <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /> I just find it funny. Fiberglass can be done wrong, and that's when it does suck, but the guys who do it right will make you a fine piece. I don't think it's right to condemn the material because a few people don't know how to properly use it.Peace.Jeff-

After time fibreglass does get weak and brittle. like you said, you can throw an abs mask out of an airplane and it would never brek.
