Hey, all.I can't make myself care whatsoever about Halloween anymore. My interest waned last year, but this year it's a full-force "I don't care anymore."...Being that this is my favorite holiday and time of the year, that disturbs and sickens me. (Just imagine how I've felt about the rest of the year, eh?...) What would YOU guys do to help smash and destroy this feeling of complete procrastination and boredom? As far as trick or treating goes, I don't even have a costume to use, except the same one I used 2 years ago, which is boring...That costume is also too "film specific", so it wouldn't win any costume contests, either. All of my new scores are BUSTS instead of masks, and I don't really have the money or desire to get a new costume together anyway, considering the money I recently spent on that Brian Wade bust project...I've tried watching tons of horror films on the weekends to get me in the mood for scary stuffs, and that's worked a little bit...But due to the fact that there is <u>nobody else around me</u> to geek out with concerning such films or "support the obsession" either at work, with friends, or at home, that just kinda trails off and dies after a day or two and everything becomes that <i>horrible</i> term "business as usual."We don't have any decorations because the lady doesn't really want me to put any up, and I can't find any that don't suck these days...The only thing I've managed to get is a pumpkin for the front porch, which hasn't been carved yet but sits displayed on the railing anyway. Perhaps I'll carve that next weekend and stick a candle in it.Are there any ideas you could suggest to help a horror/Halloween fan get back into the groove? I really don't want to be a humbug this year, but that's really what I'm starting to feel like.<b>EDIT: </b>Sorry, I didn't realize there was already a thread on this subject! I just signed on and immediately posted it, so my bad. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"confused.gif\" /> Thanks in advance and cheers,Ryan

Maybe if you snort some pumpkin seeds it will get you in the mood!? <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/teehee.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\":teehee:\" border=\"0\" alt=\"teehee.gif\" /> A good 20mg of Paxil might help too. You never know. Not me man, I'm stoked about Halloween every year. As soon as it passes I'm already thinking about next year. I put a few decoration up only do to the lack of cool ones. I have three costumes ready but i can't deiced which one to wear. I'm in the same boat as you though when it comes to not really having any other nerds to sit and watch horror movies or do genre related things with. So needless to say my girlie has to suffer and watch tons of horror flicks with me until are eyes bleed. It's a tradition of mine to watch all of the original Halloween movies before the big day. She hates it, lol.Carve that pumpkin or find a supposed haunted house cemetery or other landmark in your area and go check it out. maybe that will help. I wish you luck.-Jared

find some old scary road, or barn or something... make up a scary story about it, and take some kids out there and scare the crap out of them. I did that about 15 years ago, and now its an urban legend in my childhood town... there is even reports of it on ghost hunting websites. And I made it all up!! If no one is helping you get into the Halloween spirit then go mess with people and create some halloween spirit! Go to <a href=\"http://www.theshadowlands.net/places/georgia.htm\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.theshadowlands.net/places/georgia.htm</a> and scroll down until you find DOUGLASVILLE, read the story about Gray Road. I made up the whole thing with a friend of mine, and every Halloween we would take kids out to the old barm and scare the crap out of them.

Ryan,I know how you feel bud, I have felt this way since I started high school. I don't know, I use to by 1 high quality mask a year in middle school and I guess since I really entered the hobby, Halloween became irrelevant when it existed for me every day of every year.I feel really burnt out about it to, and it is kind of depressing. I love Halloween, the culture, the costumes, the movies, etc. I really wish I could feel the Halloween magic again.Goodluck,Jon

You need to do Halloween related activities to keep you in the spirit. Make a scarecrow, carve some pumpkins, stuff like that.
