Easily lived up to the hype. <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"thumbsup.gif\" /> Sam Worthington is a great actor & James Cameron is a great director.

I know I'm in the minority but I didn't think it was that great. The story was nothing but "Dances with Wolves" in space. One of my friends made the best comment "Note: If your aliens are supposed to be an analogy for American Indians, you don't have to give them arrows, horses, war paint and Indian yells -- they're not an analogy anymore, they're just GIANT BLUE INDIANS."It was good CGI as far as CGI goes but even good CGI still looks fake to me. People keep saying to me "But it was so seamless!". Yeah, CGI characters on CGI backgrounds tend to blend together well.

I only saw it because some friends wanted to. Sci-Fi stuff like this just isn't my thing but it was actually pretty entertaining. Nothing to write home about IMO.

AVATAR is a cash cow...It's on the verge of becoming the 2nd highest grossing movie of all time.... behind James Cameron's other big one, Titanic.http://movies.yahoo.com/news/usmovies.acce...-titanic-record

I saw this finally and I found it very entertaining. I didn't think I would enjoy it based on the trailers, since I have become less interested in mega million dollar blockbuster films, but this is one that's worth checking out in the theaters. I definitely recommend it.

Greatly looking forward to Tuesday evening. I won a contest and get to take my wife to go see a private screening of Avatar in IMAX 3D with 3 members of the NBA's Utah Jazz. Can't wait!
