I love this quote:"We had an actual woman who worked with burn patients"As opposed to what? A pretend woman?
People I\\\'ve done good business with:
Suckface (a true legend of this hobby!) Mark aka Knifegloves Alches Helborn Justin aka TheShape999 Ken aka AllThingsEvil Andy aka Knives4fingers Psychosocial Dredd Waiting on: Part 4 Glove - FredsMidFinger Click to see my feed back ![]() Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-a-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

Just something I picked up...We had an actual woman who worked with burn patients who came in just <!--coloro:#FF0000<!--/coloroto wrap him for a scene where he's in a burn ward<!--colorc<!--/colorc which was actually written after I finished the makeup design -- which had I known there was going to be a burn ward, I would have had something to actually start from, but that was a later addition. But she said that it looked like a well-healed burn victim. It's funny, as subtle as it is, some of the lighting really kicks up a lot of the detail. I really tried to keep it close to his face, keep the detail subtle, but the lighting really pops up some of the forms and it looks a lot more starkly sculpted than it really is.Is it me or does the line in red suggest that Freddy survives the torching, and maybe dies after?

While I like that the fx artists and designers went to great lengths to create a new Freddy design that is still familiar, yet with more realism and depth, I feel that they are really limiting themselves. I mean Freddy is a supernatural entity that manifests himself in nightmares; so why then should he be bound to only one kind of appearance? Look at 'Ghost Story' for example. In that film, the vengeful spirit manifests itself with various stages of putrid decay throughout the film (not to mention the ultra creepy design Dick_Smith did that was not used, but later used in 'The House on Haunted Hill' remake). So why not have Freddy appear in various stages of severe burns or charring in different nightmares?Just imagine one dream where Freddy appears shrouded by shadow, but you could just faintly make out the smoldering, charred black flesh contrasted with lip-less off white skeletal teeth. Or, perhaps a version of Freddy that is still on fire, but make it more dreamlike and surreal by making the fire move in slow motion for example. These are just a couple of my trifle of ideas. A being that is unbound by natural laws living in a dream world has untold possibilities in terms of visual effects.I mean why toss out all the different concepts if they can still be incorporated? Who knows? Maybe something like that will be incorporated in the film. I will just have to wait and see. I just see so many great, and creepy possibilities in this context of a film. It would just be sad to not see such potential adequately utilized.

Yeah, wouldn't it make just as much sense for Freddy to appear in a dream as he looked before being burned?
Tolerance will not be tolerated.

The only thing that ever made sense to me as far as a reason why he didn't appear the way he was before being burned is, what if he can't? I mean what if he can only sustain looking pre-burnt for a short period of time? Maybe part of being who he is in the dream world is being the way he was the moment before he died because if it wasn't for his death, there would be no dream demon to begin with. That's just my two cents but it always made sense to me to think of it that way. Sure, he can turn back to normal if he wants but maybe it's too hard for him to stay like that, maybe it quite a bit of his power to do so. LOL, who knows, but I could theorize about it for hours.-Joseph
