Just saw it <img src=\"style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\" style=\"vertical-align:middle\" emoid=\"\" border=\"0\" alt=\"biggrin.gif\" /> I must say that I'm a huge fan of the series since I'm 8 years old... I grew up with Freddy and in my head I had a kind of vision of the character... The remake have brought the same character I've always dreamed of!For me this movie was stunning. Every scenes Freddy was in I was like an 8 years old kid again. I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to see it again!I loved Freddy a LOT. Really sick and dark. The movie has some flaws like any other, but Freddy was so awesome that I can forgive the little mistakes the movie had. I'm really happy to have this movie in the series.

Here's my two cents. Freddy was well played, he was honestly creepy and I thought he looked more realistic, more like someone who was actually burned alive. I thought the whole concept that Freddy was a child molester was much better than him being a child murderer. The flashback scenes when he asked little nancy to come into his secret cave with him, then when they are both spraying what looks like blood onto the walls of this "cave" and laughing, f!@king creepy as hell. I liked that the characters had a more personal connection to freddy, rather than just being the kids of the people who murdered him. I liked all the elements that paid homage to the originals, and I think that even though the one liners were cheesy, they preserved that aspect of freddy's personality, he wasn't a serious guy. I honestly liked it a lot. I can't say much bad about it except I did feel like the whole story was a little rushed, but besides that, well done.

I just watched it again. I really love this movie. Jackie was brilliant and I like the new Nancy a lot. Let's hope it makes some bucks because I want a a sequel. I bet Jackie will become more comfortable with the character in a second film and do an even better job....but it would be hard to top this.

**SPOILERS**I got to go to the 9:50pm showing last night after dinner and I have to say that I was really impressed. Sure the movie had it's cons about it but I'm not going to sit here and pick it apart piece by piece. I read an early draft of the script a while back so I knew that Freddy was not innocent through the entire film, however I thought they did an amazing job of raising that questionable doubt. Not just through what the kids were discovering but because of just how angry Freddy really was at the situation. I loved the idea that as burned Freddy, he HATED these kids, hated everything about them, period.I got the impression that Freddy did not like being dream Freddy at all. I think he enjoyed doing what he was capable of in the dreamscape, but it was more than implied that he absolutely wanted to be alive again. Another thing that I took from it was just how likable Alive Freddy was. When Nancy's mother says "you kids were his life", I actually felt sorry for him, because for those instants of flashbacks I really began questioning if he was innocent myself and despite what some others might have said...I really liked that angle. I've heard some people say that they thought that alive Freddy was really creepy toward the children but I didn't get that at all. I would imagine that the way most pedophiles get away with doing what they do is by acting caring and nurturing toward children...for lack of a better term "being their friend". Sometimes people just relate easier to children and impression that I was left with was that he just loved kids. For me, it was so strange seeing Freddy be nice. In the previous films, even when you saw flashbacks of Freddy (Freddy's dead) there was no doubt that Freddy was just an evil person. When he kills Katherine's mother and tells her that she "had to take her medicine" you just knew that his niceness was all fake. I didn't get that impression at all with this incarnation. This Freddy was the kind of person that you would have no problem leaving your kids with while you and your spouse go out for dinner and a movie. I felt like I could easily trust version of alive Freddy. With the exception of a couple of one liners in the previous films, I've never heard Freddy cuss before, not on this level and I know that I've never seen Freddy this angry before. "CAN YOU BRING THE DEAD BACK TO LIFE...I DIDN'T F**KING THINK SO"...WOW...I could have done without the "the brain lives for 7 minutes" line (which by the way for those of you who didn't get a chance to read it *thanks for turning me onto it Mark* that line was in the original script as well) but once again, I think that it goes to show just how much he really hated the kids for what had happened to him. There were a few things about the movie that I didn't care for, but like I said earlier, it's not something that I'm going to pick a part scene by scene. I would like to say that I agree with most...the story did seem a little rushed from beginning to about mid-way through the film but after that it really leveled out and became a really good film. I had no problem with the acting except for only one scene and that was with Jesse and Kris in the bedroom when they find out that they are dreaming about the same person. Even in the original Nightmare I always had a problem with that scene. When Tina is detailing what Freddy looks like to Nancy and Glen looks up shocked, letting you know that even he is dreaming about him, he just doesn't speak up about it. I try to put myself in a real life situation where if I had a conversation like that with my wife or a friend, the "that's impossible" comment wouldn't even be brought up. I like to think it would be more like "ARE YOU SERIOUS??? When I dream about him <insert whatever scenario happened here>, what about you?, and it would turn into a serious discussion. I've never been a fan of playing that aspect of something that should be impossible but obviously isn't off like it's no big deal at all. On a side note, my only other issue is that I wish they would have explained the glove and why it existed in the first place. In the original, you knew that Alive Freddy was killing kids prior to his demise, but the new Freddy wasn't. That being the case, why did he create the glove? Was he building it because he was getting ready to start killing and the parents got to him before he had the chance? Who knows, but I would like to know for certain why the gloves exists for this incarnation of him.Everything after that was golden in my opinion and I have to say that with the exception of the Original Nightmare, this one is probably my new favorite which to me, is saying so much about the film it's not even funny. I'm not going to gloat about what a great job Jackie did as Freddy. From the beginning, I figured he would do a great job. He was awesome in Little Children and he was AMAZING in The Watchmen and I really thought that he could pull it off. When I first found out about this remake, I was so upset that Robert wasn't going to be playing Freddy anymore but then I just accepted the fact that things change over time and this is a new Freddy that I've already learned to love. In my humble opinion, this movie was great and I would go see it again and again. I might even take my kids to go see it this afternoon when they get back from their grand parents house.Anyway, that's my take, I hope you guys enjoyed it.-Joseph
