Ok, here is my official opinion of the film since seeing it last Friday night. I liked it overall for what it was. However, I didn't like all the jump scares. I think the nightmare scene could have been a little more tricky. It was rather obvious when people were dreaming. A minor complaint is why did Freddy talk so loud? Overall though, I liked it. I know it's a Remake and they get frowned upon all the time, but hey it's either no Freddy at all or this.

A friend of mine brought up something I hadn't thought of - Why does Freddy even HAVE a glove in the new one? In the original he had KILLED children and the glove was what he used. In the remake he didn't kill any of them when he was still alive. He went through all the trouble of building it just to scratch them a bit? C'mon!AND - When they show the little girl lift her shirt she has healed scars from the glove on her back. SCARS?! Are we expected to believe the parents just didn't notice big claw marks on their kid's back until after they healed? They must not bathe little kids regularly in this "remake" universe.

According to the early script, the glove was a self-made gardening tool.

It wasn't presented that way in the finished film, so the glove is pointless in the movie. If those were intended to be scratches then they shouldn't have done the makeup like they were healed scars.

It was horror movie, Thats all! I never watch a horror movie thinking about acting or scripts or what have you. certian things come too mind deaths and the main bad dude. I cant say It was scary im a bit to old for that now, but if I where 5 again and if this was the original I think it might have freaked me out a bit more freddy seemed really pissed off LOL. I rather meet Roberts version in my dreams then this guy, Plot of the movie ? SimpleHe wanted to coonoodle these kids up for snitching, the kids where his WHOLE life in this movie, he felt betrayed in his own sick mind.

Although i still think the makeup was horrible after watching the movie, I thought that JEH made for a pretty good Freddy. Too bad the movie was terrible. Why even bother remaking those scenes with the wall/bathtub/and girl in a body bag if you're not even going to come close to making them better? I agree that the movie went by way too fast, the pacing was brutal. I don't mind those cheap scares, but man there was like 20 of them in the film. I give this film a 4/10. I think the sequel should be Freddy seeking revenge on everyone responsible for this movie.
