It's a cool picture indeed. And a rare one aswell, I personally have not seen it before.

Goaliehack: "who cares". It seems there are still people who believe the BS that there were a dozen of masks used in part 7. And sadly there are still masks around offered as screen used for thousands of dollars to poor collectors... So, who cares? Me! I do really not want to see more masks (even if it is only on pictures) spread into the collectors world as screen used when they were not.

Would be sad to have such a nice picture entered the fan community with the wrong description attached to it.

Justin once owned the teeth and also a screen used hand appliance. So, if you want a very accurat part 7 Jason head mask, go with his products. He knows the details and colors best. This is the first time I hear that he owns a mask though.

Mario is correct, as far as I've seen. I don't know why people are getting so 'up in arms' about his observations...He's just trying to help. Appropriate wording when it comes to descriptions of these highly-desirable props is very important for a variety of reasons. Not the least of which is to avoid misinformation that can lead to potential ripoffs, scams, or other problems that can arise due to mislabeled items. A prop or costume is not "screen-used" unless it actually appears within an attainable, viewable portion of film reels from the feature film in question.

And honestly, I thought the whole "only 3 masks are seen on screen" thing had become common knowledge by now...

    Cheers,

I'm sure my mask was falsely stated as screen used. It came directly from John B. , I know that as a fact and it's priceless to me. A good friend of mine left it to me when he passed away.
I often wish I didn't mold it because Molding it ruined the paint.
Although had I not molded that mask Nightowl and a large chunk of this community wouldn't be here.
All we had was the Yahoo club and early Ebay.

What mask was on the Dummy at MMI it was loaned out to nfx directly from John I still have a pic of John re sculpting the makeup for Jason.

Many great masks have come since mine. I quit during the VHS days haha

Justin, had you not molded that mask, this community would not have snowballed into what it has become today. I say, even though its paint is damaged, molding it back then was a great idea. Heck, I would still love to own one of your part 7 castings today, even after almost 11 years!!

I remember the mask that NFX borrowed...It was painted very dark gray and had a black cloth over the eye just like the original hero mask in Mario's collection. Did Zyla ever do anything with it?

    Cheers,

I'll get it out and snap a pic. the chemicals in the urethane dissolved the paint so I slightly redid it and left it alone.
I had in the past thought about making black resin copies just so the actual look of the mask is preserved.
Doubt I will anytime soon though.

After wrapping up the last batch 5 years or more ago I hoped to never see another Hockey mask haha.
Those who make them may know what I mean.

Jason may have sent that mask back not sure though. it had an old belt for straps suede side up and was a tad smaller than mine. I used his mask when I made the "From Hell" because his was thicker plastic.

Here`s the promo picture with the green backdrop as mentioned by Vf31. It clearly features one of the masks of the set up. The left mask in the first row. I think this confirmes that these masks were used in promo for the film.

Wow, really cool picture, and great discussion! I always love learning more about the behind the scenes goings on, especially since most details are either closely guarded, or have been lost to time.

"Those who make them may know what I mean."

    LOL yep! Wink
