I always use hdmi cables on my home theater applications.
I have a Toshibi Blu Ray player & a standard Toshiba dvd player with the Color stream option.
The color stream option is comparable with blu ray quality in my opinion.
The Toshiba color stream component signal bypasses your TV's tuner, comb filter, and NTSC decoder. It is delivered to your TV via three cables and keeps all of the picture elements separate, which increases colour resolution. This type of connection provides you with a very clean picture, eliminating noise and crosstalk between colors.
