The Mangler Jason Bust.

Hi guys.

Can anyone give me some info on this jason bust called "the mangler", who made them how many was made ect just any history on this bust also how rare are thease now and how much are they worth.

The Mangler was recast off of a film used prop bust of Jason from Part 4, and sold through Fangoria in ‘97. The copy owned by Eric Austin, owner of The Halloween Mask Association, was the sole master pull that was cast to create the production mold, then painted and photographed to promote the run.

ps, that specific copy seemed to have lost quite a bit of detail compared to earlier copies. I couldn't fetch much more than a couple hundred for it, so hopefully you will do better.

If you go to the upcoming "Maskfest" in Indy at the end of March you can meet one of the guys who helped make the "Mangler" available. Ken Spriggs will be there and can tell you all about the making of this piece.

Just to clarify, there are NO differences between "earlier copies" and "later copies" of the original Mangler production run. All production Manglers look like crap, and share the same 3rd (or maybe even 4th) generation casting size.

James' copy is different because it isn't from the production mold. It is apparently pulled from the master mold made directly from the screen-used stunt dummy.

then just to clarify, my copy DOES have less detail than james' copy. which is what I was basing my assumption off of. I see why my wording was incorrect. but when comparing the two, his was clearly more detailed. now I understand why...thanks.
