So, When I lived in London 16ish years ago, I worked at a place called Alien War. the guy who did all of the Creatures, and sets, name was Martin Astles. We hit it off and became friends.
Martin worked in London, on Hellraiser, Nightbreed, and a slew of other films. Anyway, he moved to the states a few years ago, to further his career in Hollywood. We lost touch but have recently started chatting again. Well I got a message that he wanted to talk to me about something.
I called him a few days ago, and it seems that the company he works for( www.dracstudios.com) has opened up a shop here in Louisiana. He asked if I would be interested in a job? Uh YEAH!!!!
I finally have enough days to join the local film union, doing set dressing for the tv show Treme.
Well he passed my info on to the President of the company, and we had lunch today. I am guessing so he can feel me out and see if i would fit into the crew.
I told Martin that I was still ok with paint and powder wounds, and plaster molds. Have done some silicone molds, but not up to scratch on a lot of the newer materials.
He said that they are willing to teach me.
It seemed to go ok, and he said he would call me when he gets back in town next week!
