Hello, everyone!!
I just got my first replica glove (ever) in the mail yesterday, and I couldn\'t be happier with it. Some of you may already know why and have been following this project for a while now on Facebook, but for those who haven\'t, please allow me to gush a bit and explain what this is and why it exists...
In early September, Mr. Chris Stanley randomly added me on Facebook...I thought, "Okay, why not?", then said hello and started browsing pics of his work. I was struck immediately by his ability to replicate certain colors and weathering on part 1 and 2 gloves that I hadn\'t seen attempted before. Impressed, I messaged him and asked if he would like to take on an INCREDIBLY ANAL project to produce a glove to my exact specifications, and he happily agreed. I paid his asking price and laid it all out for him: I want a completely accurate ANOES 1/2 hero glove replica, including all of its current-day cosmetic/structural damage and "production scars", but with a twist; All the finger rings and original leather glove must be present - kind of a fantasy scenario to see what Becker\'s template would have looked like in some alternate universe where the leather piece would still be attached and the rings had not fallen out or been removed.
We found that the project would involve a lot more time and re-examination of the hero glove than we thought...We both invested many hours into re-identifying and discussing certain aspects of the template as it appears today, assuring that we were always on the same page with colors, detail, shapes, and assorted anomalies. Throughout the whole process, Chris\'s devotion to a quality product amazed me...He became his own worst critic, presenting details that I had not seen, replacing a couple pieces of the template because he didn\'t approve of his own work, and cutting no corners with the ultimate hope of pushing his work to be more accurate than anything else to date. Within no time at all, I couldn\'t even manage to find a way to critique what he was doing. His work moved far beyond my understanding of the glove\'s components and took it beyond anything I had dreamed of, then just kept going!
Finally, he ended up crafting this puppy you see here. Frankly, I\'m still in shock and it\'s been in the house for two days. In my personal opinion, aside from any "screen-used template gloves" and the different type of accuracy they offer, this is quite easily the best part 1/2 replica glove ever made to date. Also, this has been one of the best deals I\'ve ever made online for anything, ever. Chris kept me updated every step of the way with pictures and questions, and always answered my inquiries within the day. He even made the friggin\' cloth that Marge used to wrap the glove as a surprise!!!#$! Truly, I can\'t say that about anyone else I\'ve dealt with in the entire hobby of prop-collecting. What\'s MORE, Chris went out of his way to make a product that went above and beyond what I had even requested, for the satisfaction of knowing he did the best he could do the FIRST time. That is honorable. That is cool. That is king.
Thank you, Chris, for helping me to finally own such a beautiful replica of this film prop. Your hard work and passion for what you do has really shone through in this glove, and please rest assured that your hard work will forever be appreciated.
Now, on to the pics. I hope you all enjoy them! There will be a video uploaded later, as well...
Thanks for looking and cheers,
Ryan
