Early this week I was at the hobby shop and found this kit that came out sometime this summer...
    Optimus Prime Duel Model Kit
Made by Takara/TOMY(Japan)...yeah the toy company that gave us the original Transformers, Micronauts and ZOIDS, just to name a few. Hadn\'t made a kit for a few decades so it took an hour of thinking but from looking at the pictures, I just couldn\'t pass. The box stated,"For 15 years and up...Easy snap together kit"...BOY was I wrong!
First thing, NONE of the pieces fit. The instruction book is extremely complex and some parts will not fit once another piece is added before, so you have to look ahead thru the instructions or you\'ll have a hell of a time. Each piece needs to be carved, cut, sanded and reshaped before being attached. Some pieces take an hour just to connect!lol I even used hot water and a hair dryer for some parts.
No way was this a kit for a beginner, so I checked the reviews on AMAZON and EVERY customer complained that this was the most difficult model kit the\'ve ever done and what the boxs stated was pure BS. Many have actually broke some pieces and gave up during the process....Showed that I wasn\'t the only one who was having a hell of a time. Those who did actually finished the kit hail it as the greatest OptimusKit/Fig on the market.
Well enough of my talk and thought I\'d share a few progress pics. Some of you have been keeping up with the whole process on FB since I\'ve been posting progress pics daily. Here\'s what I have so far...It\'s been the 4th day and I\'ve finally finished the inner limbs and muscles. Wanted to share these pics now since once I start getting into building the armor you won\'t be able to see 80% of whats under.
Every finger, joint, neck, limb moves freely like an actual human being. Just shows how complex this kit is...Yeah 4 days...Crazy huh?

I was literally just looking at some of those on eBay. They are very awesome. I\'d like to get one myself. I hope they\'re a little less expensive for you there as a domestic product than they are here as imports.

Keep at it K-man... looks great so far! Sounds like you need a lot of dedication and determination to assemble this piece, but looks like you\'re handling it just fine. I look forward to seeing further progress pics!

    Thanks gang!
These cost around 80-90 dollars down here depending on where you purchase it. I assume that Hasbro has half the rights to the toyline so I\'m sure the price would be around the same or even lower in the states. Each piece needs to be adjusted since the pieces that connect are crudely made. I already have sore thumbs.lol
One point advise to anyone purchasing these. The pieces are extremely fragile so if a certain part doesn\'t fit, take your time in reshaping them one by one. If you don\'t I guarantee it will crack! It\'s a real pain and I almost gave up on the first day, but once it comes along you\'ll be surprised on how great it looks. Just hoping that all the complaints on Amazon/Japan have been heard and they make better molds for you all living in the US and Europe.lol
