Check the top row of the new additions and click the item second from the left....The "Promotional Jason... Mask"

Here is the description as it is listed on the website:

"This is a promotional Jason mask from the production of the 1986 horror film Friday the 13th: Part VI - Jason Lives. A small number of these masks were created as promotional pieces for the film and were handed out to a select few at the film\'s red carpet screening. This mask has been created from a flexible plastic and has been painted and detailed to replicate the hero masks seen on screen, including the “axe cut” at the top corner, as well as the red chevron insignia between the eyes. Additionally, the mask features three brown leather straps attached which Velcro together in the back for a secure fit. The entire piece has been distressed to look weathered and aged and remains in good condition. Measures approximately 9” x 10” (23cm x 25cm.)
This item comes with a Prop Store

Please discuss! This is one of the most interesting new things to pop up in the online market for Friday the 13th production pieces in years, so I\'d love to start up a conversation about it - for old times\' sake. Smile

Do you think the discovery of this "promotional" crew gift mask changes things for collectors? Do you think it\'s legit? Is it cool? Does it suck? Post your opinions!

    Cheers,

    Ryan

What i have to say is link doesn\'t work lol. Hopefully this link works.
Pretty cool i see a couple things that stick out to me. The axe mark is different, the back looks like black abs, and a few other stuff. really cool though.

Looks legit to me. The red around the axe cut is interesting. I wonder if there was a basecoat of red put down sometime in the paint process. Its also interesting that they say "red chevron", I wouldn\'t think that would be the term used. Cool find Ryan, any way to find out what it sold for?

The leather back piece is the interesting aspect to me. Looks like the horizontal strap is held on my velcro. Would make taking the mask on and off much easier than having to lift it over the undermask/makeup every take. The style of the paint and shape of the mask looks truly unique as well. It appears to be naturally aged some too.

Overall, my take on the authenticity of this mask?

Scott: Velcro is the way the original side straps of most production-used Part 6 masks were connected. They were adjustable, which worked well for the fact that there were two production-used undermasks of differing sizes, and two different actors who portrayed Jason in the film.

predator: I did see what the mask sold for earlier today, but I don\'t want to divulge the price at this time since it has officially been marked as sold. I think it\'s cool they used the term "chevron", too!! Those Propstore guys know their stuff.

crazydog500: Sorry about the link. Thanks so much for providing the correct one! I couldn\'t get the direct link to work because the forum\'s word blocker kept garbling it. I\'m not convinced that the rear side is black ABS...They could have just painted it darker to look more of a completed product for a promotional gift. You know, to make it more "authentic."

The only weird thing I see on the mask is that top vent hole beside the ax cut...It seems to be drilled extremely off. Everything else looks absolutely gorgeous, in my opinion. I\'d love for more knowledgable parties to chime in on this...I have so many questions that currently have no answers!! haha.

    Cheers,

    Ryan

So who would like to see a replica of this thing? Would anyone buy something like that if this piece was confirmed as real? I\'d be excited as hell, personally.

I would be down to do it lol. I like making replica hockey mask that weren\'t used on screen or behind the scenes. I do agree they could of painted the back also.

I think he means from the cast itself. I\'d be interested. Find out more from whoever you can, this thing is golden.
