gypsum plaster to be specific. I have only made molds from good old industrial grade plaster of paris. Most mask makers, however, will tell you it's not the best thing to use. The reason for this is because regular old plaster of paris will not hold fine details as long as some of the better plasters will. But...i have hands molds and whatnot made 3 years ago that still cast just fine. Then again, i don't make hundreds of hands with them either...lol... Ultracal and Hydrocal are the two industry plasters that alot of people use.....take care,Tommy
